After 2 years of dating, my boyfriend and I put on a few lbs and knew we HAD to do something. We decided to try Big Mike's because of a 1-month groupon deal. I was TERRIFIED before my first day because I was so out of shape and NOT a morning person, but Mike made me feel so comfortable and inspired. After only 2 weeks, we noticed major results in our stamina and felt so much healthier. My back pain that i've struggled with for years has subsided significantly and my posture is much improved due to Mike's philosophy about sand and the low impact. After the month was over, I desperately missed the program after only a week and after Mike graciously worked out a deal we decided to sign up for 6 more months!
Mike pushes you but isn't a hardass, never making you feel inadequate - which is always a turn off for me in an instructor. He makes workouts fun and is always changing up the routine so you never get bored. I've never been one to push myself or being too competitive when it comes to exercise - but I find myself naturally tracking my goals and progress - pushing MYSELF to finish that last lap even if Mike isn't watching me. Being on the beach is not only a physical challenge, but a soul reviving way to start your morning. There's nothing as inspiring and motivating as seeing dolphins in the ocean while doing lunges.
There are many boot camps to choose from but what keeps me coming back to this one is Mike and his overall attitude and philosophy. isn't overbearing or cheesy like some endorphin freaks and I've never once felt judged or demoralized when I'm struggling - only positive vibes, inspiring motivation and super results!
p.s. I'm actually looking forward to the beach this summer in my bikini! and that's worth every penny!
